Background Info

The 1975 models are in great demand as they have a very beefy bark characteristic and a beautiful bell timbre. For the sampling session, we took the signal directly at the harp's output - before the electronics. This way you get the best sound with all the harmonics and frequencies.  You will be surprised by the beautiful sound of this instrument. The original instrument setup was optimized for a wide dynamic range and a warm sound. We tried to keep the characteristic of the real electric piano with all of its imperfectness. Best example is the tuning. Mostly, the samples for electric pianos are perfectly tuned. From our perspectives, this results in a unnatural, clean and thin sound. Normally such instruments are never perfectly tuned or the tines change their pitch while vibrating. This results in a warm and fat sound when playing chords.

Also the settings of the tines and their physical behavior is not equal. The keys have different characteristics and this makes it so colorful. We tried to capture this characteristics to benefit from the imperfectness  for sake of realism.

It is stunning how well the Motif Series captures this sound and how well it keeps the warmth and fatness.
